"Stepping Into The Light"

Before the show, those in my travel group (me, Lisa, Tamara, Crystal, Dazzy, and Natalia) met up with a lot of fans outside the venue and also at a pre concert dinner meet up. It is always wonderful to meet those who came from all over, talking with those you've met for the first time that night and to catch up on old times with those you've gotten to see in the past!

Around 11:15pm we were let into Joe's Pub, and my group were led to our table on an upper level in Joe's that I had reserved. A few of us thought we weren't going to see too well but in the end, it turned out to be the best view in the whole place!

About 11:30 or a bit later and we had some nice preshow dance tunes including a remix of Step into the Light (I LOVE that remix that Joe's played!!), Darren got on stage and he had my attention the whole time for sure. Myself, Crystal and Natalia were on our feet dancing during the faster tempo songs and since where Crystal and I were seated was hard to stand up without bumping into a table to dance, we took our shoes off and stood up to dance on the cushions of the couch thing, and no one was behind us at all!! Darren did look towards our group several times, and made gestures to acknowledge us too which was great. He certainly knows how to keep the audience's attention with his music and his ability to keep us entertained & smiling.

The mixture of both the new album material plus a few tunes from the past was perfect. I cant remember the names of all the songs he performed that night but to the best of my ability ... "How to build a time machine" "Words" "Step into the light" "Unlovable" "Popular" "Void" "I want you" "Carry on dancing", etc...

I have to say I am SO looking forward to the new cd release in August and hearing each song in full and taking it in all in. The crowd gave him great reactions with every song he did no matter if it was an old or new one.

"How long has it been?" [the crowd responds] "It's been like 6 years."

"You could have punished me, by not showing up, and I would have deserved it"

"Justin, did you go .... in the park?" [Justin nods yes]

After the show was over, a small group of us waited outside the venue, and Darren came out about an hour later, and he signed a few autographs and talked a bit before he got into his limo to leave. He was gracious and kind and beautiful and a gentleman as always to those waiting outside to get autographs and allowing people to snap his picture as he was leaving. I have to say I got about 2 or 3 hours sleep total after the show, but it was worth it, and I would do it all over again without regret!

I have to say this night was so amazing from start to finish. I loved the re-working of older tunes plus the new tunes. I was able to share the experience with so many great friends that came from all over including one that I finally was able to meet up with person after knowing her nearly 7 years. Even though my group's table was a bit of a distance from the stage, our view was excellent and Darren did acknowledge my group in the back part of the room a few times during the show too which was great : - )
After the show, a small group of us waited outside Joe's & The Public Theatre to see if we could catch him leaving. A few people managed autographs, and I did manage to snap a few pics of the experience as he wasn't far from me at all at the time...
